Welcome to Wembdon St George’s Church School

The children at Wembdon are our greatest asset. Together with our actively engaged parents, loving community and a team of staff, who put children at the centre of all that we do; this creates a happy, safe, and positive school environment that enables the children to ‘Shine’ and be the best that they can be!

We are situated in the village of Wembdon which borders Bridgwater, a rapidly expanding and developing town. We cater for children aged 4-11 years and have classes from the Reception year to Year 6, some are mixed year group classes. Our school community is increasingly diverse with just under 20% of our children speaking English as an additional language. We embrace individuality and promote this through celebrating culture, heritage, identity, and difference.

We are an inclusive school and are recognised for offering great support: for both children and families. At Wembdon St George’s Church School, we want to help children achieve their full potential and shine brightly for all their tomorrows. We have a hardworking and dedicated team of staff who hold high shared expectations for all the children that we teach. We encourage a love of learning, the development of self-esteem and strive to make our curriculum an engaging and active experience that drives curiosity and achievement.

As a Church School, we aim to develop our Christian values and foster a kind and caring attitude towards everyone. Wembdon is at the heart of our community with excellent links with St George’s church.

We are passionate about the outdoors and practical learning and our curriculum and play offer very much reflects this intent. We have a wonderful site which has playgrounds, a field, a meadow, forest school and a garden.

I hope you will enjoy looking at our school website and it gives you a flavour of life at Wembdon St George’s. We welcome visitors to have a look at our school when we are at our best - in lessons and during the school day.

If you require any further information please contact the school directly, we look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely

Mrs. Clare Wallace
