Uniform Policy - September 2024

It is the policy of the Local Governing Committee, that all children wear the school uniform. We feel a uniform gives the children a sense of belonging to Wembdon St George’s Church School and it gives them an identity and a distinctiveness when representing the school off the premises. It also encourages pride in the school and seems to have a beneficial effect on conduct.

Children will be rewarded daily with team points for wearing the correct full uniform and reminders will be issued for those not in full school uniform. Teachers and Leaders will support families wherever possible to have access to the school uniform. This will include access to second hand logo items which have been donated by families, these can be accessed via main reception.

Hair should be neat and tidy with long hair tied back. Nail varnish and make-up should not be worn at school. Children may wear single stud earrings (which they must be able to remove for PE and sport) and a watch; other jewellery is not permitted, and children will be asked to remove it should it be worn to school. Hair accessories can be worn but should not hang down or protrude.

Uniform items with our school logo can be obtained via Jual (www.jual.co.uk), South West Schoolwear (www.swschoolwear.co.uk) or Goldstar (https://goldstaruniforms.co.uk). Logo items of uniform should display the newest logo which was introduced 4 years ago. All clothing, including coats and bags, should be labelled clearly with the child’s name, this will support us in returning misplaced items to the correct child.
