It is the policy of the Governing Body that all children wear the school uniform. We feel a uniform gives the children a sense of belonging to Wembdon St George’s School and it gives them an identity and a distinctiveness when representing the school off the premises. It also encourages pride in the School and seems to have a beneficial effect on behaviour.

Hair should be neat and tidy, natural in style and colour. Extreme styles, shaved patterns, dyed hair are not appropriate in School. Nail varnish and make-up should not be worn at school.

Maroon Sweatshirts, cardigans and polo shirts with the school logo can be obtained via Jual ( or Hooks ( Children in the Foundation Stage may purchase a maroon fleece for outdoor activities. Maroon hooded tops for KS2 pupils are available for outdoor PE during the winter months.

Trainers are not allowed in school for general use, unless there is a valid medical reason for doing so, but may be worn for outdoor activities. Velcro fasteners are a practical help for younger children so they can become as independent as possible.
